Jennifer & Joseph Musicaro

Jennifer Rose was raised in Lake Orion, MI where riding horses was no stranger to her, even as a small child. By the time she was only seven, she was competing in the hunter/jumper discipline taking home the gold! By 15, the walls in Jens bedroom were painted by blue and red ribbons, lightly speckled with white.  Always a hard worker, she decided purchase her first horse using money earned working in an old backyard barn nestled deep in the country. By 18, Jennifer was scouted to go professional. Her days were soon filled teaching horseback riding lessons, running summer camps, breaking horses, and even retraining old racehorses off the track, which eventually paid her way through college.

It's Joe's 12th birthday and his mother hands him what appears to be a blank index card. On the backside of the card the words "Horseback Riding Lessons" are written. The very next day he started what would end up being the rest of his life at Lakeside Riding Academy, in Hempstead NY. After the completion of his paid lessons Joe began volunteering his time to the care of the horses, earning himself additional ride time. At the age of 13, Joe was  hired as a paid employee who assisted in the stables trail riding program. It was then that Joe first met Sonny Garguilo now one of the countries leading equine problem solvers

Joe begins working as an assistant for a therapeutic and hippotherapy riding facility in Melville, NY.

After graduating college Jennifer Rose moved to Virginia in pursuit of further advancing her knowledge and experience as an equine professional. It was at this time that Jennifer decided to explore the medical aspect of horses, and bravely undertook this change in concentration. For the next three years Jennifer Rose studied equine medicine with firsthand field experience. Jennifer was employed by The Oaks Equine as a veterinary technician, one of the largest equine veterinarians in the Tidewater region.

Joe joins the United States Navy. During his time in the service he is assigned to a Special Project Unit sending him around the world several times. Due to the nature of his work, Joe never finds himself on a ship, but deploys boots on the ground  traveling the world via aircraft. Due to this, Joe is given the unique opportunity to explore horsemanship in places such Asia and Europe.

Jennifer Rose was contacted by a well known breeding farm which housed national level champion show horses. The farm asked Jennifer to come work for them, starting young horses under saddle. Following her heart and a deep rooted passion for training horses, Jennifer Rose made it her main focus once more.

In was then that Joe left his duty station of Jacksonville FL and sent to be stationed on Marine Corps Base Kaneohe Bay. During his time in Hawaii he continued to pursue his passion for horses, riding at Kualoa Ranch, one of the filming locations of  Jurassic Park. Little did he know,  just a few years later Joe would train what was given to him as "a problem horse" that will end up participating in a New York city movie premiere of its own, on Broadway, as well as commercials for high end shopping centers at our nation's capital

Jennifer Rose decided to start her own full time training program. The scope of her work encompassed teaching students and training horses specializing in hunter/jumper. Starting young horses under saddle, teaching liberty work unbridled and & trick training were also areas of Jennifer's main focus.

Jennifer Rose obtained her Harmony Horsemanship certification. Jennifer is always striving to better herself by and riding with fellow trainers and attending/hosting clinics. She has ridden with clinicians such as Lindsey Partridge of Harmony Horsemanship and Olympic silver medalist Greg Best. Jennifer has attended clinics with well-known horsemanship trainers such as Clinton Anderson, Craig Cameron, and Grand Prix Dressage rider & trainer Ben Albright. Jennifer has also been doing work for US warmblood breeders, bringing their young horses along and attending shows & breed inspections along the east coast. Jennifer Rose has a hunger. A hunger to always do better. Better by the horse, better by the client, and bettering herself. She has the humility to not have to be“the best” and to continue an education from “the best.” During  a past lesson at Jennifer and Joe's facility taught by Grand Prix Dressage rider & trainer Ben Albright, Ben said in observation of Jen riding; “I have nothing to say, Jen! I have nothing to say!” Ben then muttered to spectators, “Look at her…just look at her…everything I taught her to do yesterday, she’s mastered today… I have nothing left to say.”

Jennifer simply smiled with gratitude and carried on with what she was doing. And that is, what she was born to do.

While still active duty, Joe begins to create the mold for Kay's Acres Horseback riding as well as developed the lesson program that later on will be adopted by and become the Harmonia Equestrian lesson program you know today.

Jennifer Rose partners with Joe Musicaro,  founder of Kay's Acres Horseback Riding a 27 time Locals Choice Award recipient. Together they attend/host clinics with clinicians such as Lindsey Partridge of Harmony Horsemanship, Brendan Wise (Classical Dressage), and Joe's long time friend Sonny Garguilo Natural Horsemanship.

Jennifer Rose & Joe Musicaro embarked on  developing a joint training program with Lindsey Partridge (legends champion in mustang training challenge & three time international thoroughbred makeover champion)  for Lindsey's feral mustang that originated in Antelope Valley, NV, now boarding at Jennifer & Joe's facility. Lindsey put the care and training of her mustang in the hands of Jennifer & Joe until she can be brought back to Canada where Lindsey resides. Upon Lindsey's departure from the Harmonia Equestrian she exclaimed, "my mustang could not have ended up in a better place, or in better hands." Later that year Joe's enlistment ends and he is Honorably discharged from the United States Navy, pursuing a full time career as a horseman and equestrian professional.

*Harmonia Equestrian  takes the gold as voted number one Equestrian Stable in the Locals Choice Award. Kay's Acres takes the silver.

Jennifer Rose and her partner Joe Musicaro attend Equitana USA at Kentucky Horse Park with Lindsey Partridge of Harmony Horsemanship. Upon arrival Joe successfully completes his Harmony Horsemanship Instructor certification, level one. Together the three perform demonstrations throughout the weekend to include a building confidence demonstration where Joe and Jen become engaged. Jen, Joe and Lindsey's demonstration later becomes  featured in Sidelines Magazine. During Jen and Joe's haul back to Virginia from Kentucky Horse Park they are contacted in regards to a 17 year old feral Mustang cross who was left in a horse trailer for 3 consecutive days. Joe took the horse in as a rescue of his own, bringing her from feral & untouched to a riding horse in just 14 training sessions-a true testament to Jennifers life long training and teaching methods by taking Joe under her wing as a professional trainer. Just one month later Joe and Jen attended a movie premiere on Broadway in NYC with their personal horses.  The two horses displayed the utmost trust and confidence in Jen and Joe as they attended the premiere, and while walking through the hustle and bustle of  Times Square & Broadway.

Jennifer continues to mold what she calls "Joe's gift ," as a "natural  born horseman." At the conclusion at Equitana USA Lindsey exclaimed, "Joe, you are so talented! The horse world needs your kindness, humor, and spirit."

Through Jennifer's guidance and the guidance of Lindsey Partridge Joe has become an accomplished trainer working hand-in-hand with Jennifer. Joe is a now Level Three Harmony Horsemanship Instructor.

Joe and Jen are now slated to attend the 2022 Horse World Expo with Lindsey Partridge.

Joe and Jen attend the Horse World Expo with Lindsey Partridge. During their time at the expo they give a joint  lecture on energy levels and confidence building in the expo halls large stadium. Back at home, a new client brings a horse to training who has suffered previous trauma as an amish cart horse. The horse was known for bucking and taking to flight due to due to great fear and trust issues. Joe takes on the training and soon after the horse becomes child safe. Later in 2022 Joes personal horse, given to him as a cantankerous bucker, takes part in a commercial for high end department stores in Washington DC. Jen and Joe continue to train various client horses from all over the country. Joe & Jen are then contacted by the Virginia Beach Mounted Police to provide them with a horse whose training fulfills the needs of the mounted unit, and they do.  Kay's Acres Horseback Riding and Harmonia Equestrian are once more voted locals choice best place to ride horses.

Jen & Joe marry in Orlando FL. They  participate in the World Horse Expo with Brendan and Melonie Wise. Back at home Jen & Joe are gentling six feral horses shipped in from Oklahoma. Two of the six horses wear livestock brands indicative of having been bred for, and/or were used as rodeo bucking horses.  Together they carefully take on this new and exciting challenge.

Jen & Joe are now now a highly sought out horse trainers, having served clients from Canada to Mexico, California to Florida. Their intuition, patience and caring demeanor provides them with the natural ability to train horses. Their methods are kind and gentle—using the horses language to achieve a connection while also creating a fun environment by using positive reinforcement.
